Week 3: Aug. 29-Sept. 2

Write a 1 page response to the article, "Santa Clara County Says No to Fast-Food Toys."

Writing Requirements:

1. Write a summary. Don't forget about the 5 Ws!
2. Do you support this proposed law? Why or why not?
3. Who do you think is responsible for our eating habits? Explain.

Due: Friday, 9/2.

WEEKLY REVIEW:
This week, students continued to work on conventions (grammar, capitalization, punctuation, etc.) by practicing every day in their bell work. Students continued to work on their autobiographies. Upon completion, they used their autobiography text to create a word cloud in Wordle, which they really enjoyed. On Friday, I assessed students on language conventions to see what they have/have not mastered.
I also talked to the students about our new system of GRADING in Communication Arts class. I'll be sending home a document to all parents next week that explains these procedures. I will ask that you sign a portion of it to have returned to me so I know the information was received. Please feel free to ask me questions!
