Week 9: Oct. 10-Oct. 14

No weekly writing this week!

1st quarter ends this Friday, Oct. 14.

If you need help providing evidence for your portfolio, please see me! Your report card will include the following learning goals:

1.1 I can brainstorm to generate ideas for writing.
5.1 I can use correct capitalization, including within dialogue.
5.2 I can use correct punctuation, including commas and apostrophes.
5.3 I can use resources for effective communication, including a dictionary.

WEEKLY REVIEW:
This is the last week of the quarter. Students worked on possessive apostrophes and reviewed dictionary skills (guide words, specifically). Students also learned how a word gets into the dictionary and practiced summarizing in teams. We finished the week by getting portfolios ready for evaluation. Students put their evidence in order and attached that evidence to their yellow "evidence sheet."
